Taking a trip from France to Uk – Didi filmed the journey with a Nikon P900, and you guessed it, no curvature…
Distance path ferry from Duinkerken to Dover: 60 km
Height Silo’s: 30 meters
Height ship’s deck: around 30 meters
Ship speed: 37 km/u or 23mph
Total travel time on ship: about 1h 45 minutes
Expected curvature after 37km or 20 miles: 260 feet or 79meters
Expected curvature after 60km or 37 miles: 1000 feet or 304 meters.
It was a clear day with high visibility and she used a P900 to zoom in on the same landmark all trip (3 grain silo’s)
She was able to get them in view over the 1hour and 45 minute trip as seen in the footage above.
